Welcome to my Art Haus Gallery

As the world seems to grow increasingly dark, the radiant serendipitous photo opportunities feel harder to find. The essential thing is not to become incurious, or bleak of heart. Art is an eternal harbinger of hope. It is there to countenance all the beauty, that of the natural world, and the many varieties that happen in and around our very own humanity. Recently I was feeling lackluster and dismal of spirit, and an NPR interview featuring Sally Mann, a brilliant and controversial photographer I greatly admire, inspired and reminded me...we who document what happens around us...have an obligation, now more than ever, to show raw truth, wherever we find it, and let it speak for itself,  however we can. The social, the political, the injustice, the unsavory, uncomfortable, as well as the  kindness, connection, and good deeds. All of these matter. It is the duty of the creative to find art on every corner, in gardens,  back alleys and beaches, on urban streets, park benches, and protests. Art is its own resistance. Like Dorothea Lange before her, Sally Mann, and so many of us who will never be widely known,  speak truth to power, and the larger and more important audience is invited to experience, to connect the dots, to consider what is on offer, and perhaps be inspired, themselves, in some small way, to never give up hope. The larger, more important audience...is you. I don't know if I'll ever have my work exhibited in a real gallery, and I can't wait for that to happen. Life isn't getting longer. So, this is it. My very raw images, here for your consideration. No ticket to buy, and you don't need to exit through a gift shop. I hope these pieces from my greater body of work, are evocative. I hope they are a reminder to honor humanity where you are able, to see hope and healing in the harsh realities, and to resist that which the universe knows to be savage, and wrong. I hope these images remind you that you yourself may be a source of power, service, and joie de vivre...infinitely creative, and very strong. Thank you for stopping by.
